Stephanie and Martin were lucky to have bright sunshine on their wedding day at the end of December. The days are short at this time of year and after family photographs and a few quick Bride and Groom shots outside, it was soon time to retreat to the warm and comfortable surrounds of Adlington Hall’s hunting lodge.
Adlington Hall Winter Wedding
The wedding ceremony itself, was held in the old part of the Hall. Adlington Hall is a lovely old timbered 16th Century country house, perfect for a wedding at any time of year, but having a particularly cosy and intimate feel in the winter time.
From a photographer’s point of view, weddings in the hall are “interesting” at this time of year when the sunlight is gone from the large window that runs along the side of the main room. The room is lined with dark oak panels and huge mural style paintings. It is a beautiful room. Flash is not an option during the wedding ceremony, however I’m pleased to say our cameras were able to cope with the low light conditions. With the cameras of even five years ago, I think we would have struggled.
Here are the images then, starting with bridal prep at Stephanie and Martin’s house.
