Helen and Austin at The Hunting Lodge, Adlington Hall
On Saturday 16th June, Helen married Austin at the wonderful St Mary’s Church at Astbury near Congleton, followed by a wedding breakfast and reception at The Hunting Lodge at Adlington Hall near Macclesfield. Do I need to mention the weather?

Helen’s parents’ house was the location of the bridal preparation – good job it’s big!!
Now I don’t THINK Helen has been married before, so I guess this was the practice run!
Powder, paint, and cough medicine being applied!
Meanwhile the girls begin to gather from all corners of the house…..
Gorgeous! Jenna, Charlotte, Niamh, Becki, Laura and Christine. Only Sarah and Poppy missing!
St Mary’s Church at Astbury is considered by experts to be one of the ‘most beautiful churches in the county’ and one of England’s ‘outstanding’ parish churches. Can’t argue with either of those, it’s unusual and stunning!
The boys! Dot, Richard, Austin, Ross, Matt and Jacob
Well it’s not often that so many of my pics make the blog! I had a great time photographing the guests as they arrived, and just about managed to keep the camera dry! Thanks for being good sports everyone.
The waiting game! Nobody told Austin to go and sit down, and he was still standing at the back as Helen walked towards the entrance!
Bridesmaids arriving, with proud mum Debbie.
Swiftly followed by Helen, with dad Andy, sharing a joke!
Another one of mine! I love the moment when the bride pauses at the entrance, you can feel the excitement mounting. First pic of the vicar who is a real character! More later….
I love being at the back getting shots like these. On this occasion I was accompanied by the videographer, who had hidden a microphone in the flowers just to the left of Helen. He had earphones on, and jumped when she coughed!
The vicar’s magic show! A very unusual and interesting sermon!
Live signing! Wonder what Austin is thinking…? He’s probably wondering if it’s stopped raining. At that point, it hadn’t! Divine intervention needed.
Thankfully, the rain stopped just in time for us to get the full group shot done on the steps leading to the church, followed by the confetti shot. Well done vicar!
A couple of weeks before the wedding we spent time scoping out a location for some bride and groom wedding photography, not far from where Austin proposed to Helen. As you can see, the ground was very wet but the rain held off just long enough for us to get some bride and groom shots.
The Hunting Lodge at Adlington Hall near Macclesfield is a superb venue, with lovely locations for wedding photography. The rain kept us quite close to the house, but we still managed to get the family group shots done outside.
A possible contender for the prize for the most enthusiastic entrance!
…followed by enthusiastic dancing! What a fabulous day.
