Kathryn and James – Storrs Hall, Windermere
Storrs Hall Wedding Photography
It’s always good to have an excuse to visit the Lake District, and what better excuse than to photograph the wedding of Kathryn and James at the marvelous Storrs Hall on the shores of Windermere. Storrs Hall has been redocorated and re-furbished and it is a top class wedding venue and a joy to photograph. The fact that it’s a two minute walk to the lakeside with stunning views across the Lake District fells is a bonus.
The flowers were conveniently stored in the bathroom.
The wedding party had taken over the hotel for the weekend so there was no need to travel off site. Kathryn and her bridesmaids had all stayed overnight and were getting ready in the bridal suite when we arrived.
Here’s Kathryn looking beautiful and ready to go!
Meanwhile James and his guys were on meet and greet in the lounge of the hotel downstairs.
They had made these cute little pouches for the wedding rings.
James and best man.
James presided over the last minute preparations for the ceremony. Trying to work out how to seat eighty guests so they could all see into the atrium where the ceremony was to be held was a challenge.
Is that a photographer lurking in the door way!?
It had been showering earlier, but we were able to get outside for a big group photo.
. . followed by the confetti bomb!
Then, we decided to head down to the Lake while the rain was holding off, to get some romantic bride and groom shots.
As you can see from this photo, fresh snow had fallen overnight on the high fells. Down by the shores of Lake Windermere there was a biting cold wind, and it was every bit as cold as it looks!
After a few photos out by the temple, it was back inside for dinner.
Nice details designed by Kathryn and family members. The reception room looked stunning.
After the speeches, we stepped outside to catch the last of the evening light, and to grab a few more Bride and Groom images. Then as darkness fell it was soon time for the first dance.
