Just as the bridesmaids arrived at St Michael’s church in Gaerwen on Anglesey it began snowing. By the time Bethan and her Dad arrived at the church gate in a very smart Bentley, you could reasonably describe the conditions as a blizzard! Of course the guests inside the church waiting for the ceremony to commence were oblivious to the weather outside and were a little incredulous when informed it was white over outside.
Meifod Country House Hotel wedding photography
At the end of the wedding ceremony we took the opportunity to photograph Beth and Gwyn with all their guests from the balcony inside the church. On venturing outside the snow had melted away. Luckily, we have the photographs to prove it!
After the wedding ceremony, we all set of to the Meifod Country House Hotel for the reception. On the way, stopping at a lay-by on the A5. The one with the famous commanding view known by every photographer in North Wales that overlooks the Menai Straits and Telford’s beautiful bridge linking Anglesey to the mainland. Resisting the temptation to remain in the nice warm and very comfortable Bentley, Bethan and Gwyn ventured out for a few photographs with the bridge in the background. It had to be done. So done it was and very quickly too. After no more than five minutes we were all turning blue, so we rushed back to our cars and onto the Meiford Country House Hotel to get warmed up.
Group photos were quickly and efficiently all done indoors, after which Bethan and Gwyn were able to properly ease into the full swing of the party. And what a party. After dinner guests worked their way into the “Entertainments” tent for the photo booth and to try their luck on the casino tables. Token fortunes were won and lost and a great time was had by one and all. And to cap it off, Wales beat France in the rugby. Doesn’t get much better than that.
