Michaela and Matt – Samlesbury Hall near Preston
Michaela and Matt were married on 26th May at Samlesbury Hall near Preston. Theirs was the last wedding this year (so far) that the rain didn’t fall in buckets! In fact the sun shone all day and we were fighting for shade most of the time. Photographers are never happy!

Samlesbury Hall, between Blackburn and Preston, was built in 1325 and is a fantastic place for wedding photography.
“Where did she say I should stick this pin?”
Salmesbury Hall’s gatehouse has been transformed into a lovely guest house for the bridal preparations…
A gaggle of gorgeous bridesmaids.
Michaela’s mum and dad were so proud they almost burst!
Matt has waited a long time for this moment. Not long now Matt!
“She’s all yours!”
These days, everybody is a photographer.
After the lovely wedding ceremony, with readings and music, it was outside into the brilliant sunshine to start the party!
“Is it a bird..?”
Our good friend Vicky from the Old Hall Hotel in Buxton was a guest at this wedding – nice orange frock Vicky!
Michaela and Matt’s big entrance!
When Matt proposed to Michaela, she was quick to say ‘yes please’, but not at all sure that she wanted to change her name! So she set Matt twelve challenges to complete by the wedding day. These included swimming in the North Sea on New Year’s Day, writing and recording a love song, setting a new world record, and appearing on the news. Matt successfully completed all the challenges, the last one being to keep a present for a whole year without opening it, something he’s never managed to do for longer than about two minutes! The present was duly opened, live on national radio, on the morning of the wedding. And yes – it was the challenge trophy he is holding up!
We love the late afternoon sunshine – especially if there are some woods to wander around in!
Time for SofaShoot!!
The new props went down a storm.
Just time for a quick run through Matt’s challenges….
