Abbeywood Estate is a wonderful wedding venue, and we always look forward to returning. We have photographed weddings there in summer winter and spring, and one of the things to love is how the gardens change with the seasons. They look good whatever the time of year. We had arranged to hook up with Nia and Ian at the venue, where Nia was putting the finishing touches to her preparations in the “Loft”.
Nia and Ian’s wedding at the Abbeywood Estate in Delamere, Cheshire.
At the Abbeywood Estate you can choose where you get married. Nia and Ian decided to go for the glasshouse. This was a wedding with a strong Scottish contingent with most of Ian’s family having travelled down from Aberdeenshire. Great for photos with an brilliant array of Tartan on display. After the ceremony the guests piled into the gardens for canapés and photographs and Ian and his groomsmen busted open a particularly fine single malt.
Next the meal. Normally you would expect the dancing to start in the evening, but this was to be no ordinary wedding. Nia and Ian had booked singing waiters to entertain the guests between mains and desert, which they did in style. Setting the tone for the rest of the celebrations by really getting everyone in a party mood.
After dinner we wondered out into the woods behind the house for a few more bride and groom photographs, then back in time for the first dance and evening celebrations.
