North Wales Weddings

We are based in Conwy and are well positioned to travel to weddings anywhere in North Wales. Here are our blog articles featuring weddings at venues across North Wales, with new articles being added all the time.

Alice and Ashleigh – Caer Rhun Hall

Alice and Ashleigh’s Colwyn Bay Wedding Photography

Images from Alice and Ashleigh’s wedding at St Joseph’s church in Colwyn Bay, followed by Caer Rhun Hall, near Conwy.

This was the first time we had photographed a wedding at St Joseph’s Roman Catholic church in Colwyn Bay, but the day started at Caer Rhun Hall where Alice and her four bridesmaids were getting ready for the wedding.

Nant Gwrtheyrn wedding photography

Sara and Will’s wedding at Nant Gwrtheyrn on the Llŷn Peninsula

Nant Gwrtheyrn is a wedding venue with a difference. It hangs in a remote cove above a wild stretch of beach, surrounded by tall mountains.  It really is totally unique.  A former granite quarry village, Nant Gwrtheyrn has been restored and is now the National Welsh Language and Heritage Centre. It doubles as a wonderful wedding venue with unlimited opportunities for great wedding photography.  Sara and Will are both adventurous types who love the great outdoors, and Nant Gwrtheyrn was an obvious choice for their wedding celebrations.

Meifod Country House Hotel wedding photography

Bethan and Gwyndaf’s wedding at the Meifod Country House Hotel, near Caernarfon

Just as the bridesmaids arrived at St Michael’s church in Gaerwen on Anglesey it began snowing. By the time Bethan and her Dad arrived at the church gate in a very smart Bentley, you could reasonably describe the conditions as a blizzard!  Of course the guests inside the church waiting for the ceremony to commence were oblivious to the weather outside and were a little incredulous when informed it was white over outside.

Eve and Aidan’s wedding at the Quay Hotel, Deganwy

Our second wedding of the year took us to the Quay Hotel and Spa in Deganwy, only ten minutes from our base in Conwy. Eve and Aidan’s wedding landed on a lovely bright February day. But don’t be fooled, the sky might have been blue but the temperature was still wintery cold, and it was very windy.  Not a good day for being outside for too long.

Shona and David’s wedding at Caer Rhun

Caer Rhun is situated near Conwy in the shadow of the Carneddeau mountains, so for a wedding in late autumn we probably shouldn’t be too surprised to have a drop or two of rain. And rain it did!  But a drop of rain never spoiled any wedding day that we’ve been to, and Shona and David’s Caer Rhun wedding was no exception.

Jennie and Dylan’s wedding at the St George’s Hotel, Llandudno

Jennie and Dylan’s wedding took place on a fine summer day in Llandudno.  They decided on a small family wedding, and the St George’s Hotel accommodated their wishes perfectly. Whilst this was by no means the smallest wedding we have ever photographed, with around twenty guests it was our smallest wedding of the year, and all the guests played an important role in their day.

Hannah and John – Soughton Hall Wedding

I can’t tell you how much we had been looking forward to Hannah and John’s wedding.  Now we live in North Wales, we are REALLY looking forward to photographing weddings at our local North Wales venues. So Hannah and John – a massive thank you for granting us the privilege of photographing your wedding at Soughton Hall, near Mold in Wales.

Tracy and David – Caer Rhun Wedding

Tracy and David’s wedding held an extra special significance for us as the first wedding we have photographed at our local venue Caer Rhun near Conwy, and also the first ever wedding reception to be held at the Mostyn Gallery in Llandudno.

Emma and Mike – Iscoyd Park

Iscoyd Park Wedding Photography

We’re still not really sure whether Iscoyd Park is in Wales or England – It’s in the badlands between the two, but we did drive over an “Araf” on the road somewhere near, so we are going to mark it down as a Welsh wedding.

The day started with us photographing Emma and her Bridesmaids at Iscoyd Park, then crossing the border back into England to the old market town of Malpas in Shropshire, where Emma and Mike live.

Alexia and Steve – Pimhill Barn

Pimhill Barn Wedding

Pimhill Barn is an unique and amazing place to hold a wedding. The barn is a huge open space, delightfully rustic and crossed with timbers that have supported the roof for centuries. It is also a blank canvas for couples to design their own Pimhill Barn wedding, and fill with their own decorations, which is exactly what Alexia and Steve did on their wedding day.

The Grosvenor at Pulford Wedding

Deborah and Tom – The Grosvenor Hotel, Pulford

Deborah and Tom’s wedding was our first wedding of the year in very early January, and delightfully started out in Wales before heading to the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel.  Lois came with us to this wedding, and we were all on our toes throughout the day as there were lots of opportunities for great photographs.

Debbie and James’ Wedding at Ruthin Castle

Ruthin Castle wedding photography

For wedding photography you can’t beat a good castle! We have photographed weddings at Lumley Castle in Durham for Cathy and Tim’s wedding, and last year we photographed Emily and Dan’s wedding at Comlongon Castle in Dumfries.
